In test9-pre6, when going to compile something - just hit make, gcc kicked
in - and grepping, my system came to a semi-deadlock both times. By this I
mean that you can switch between vconsoles pretty snappily (this system has
no X), but you cannot type at all on those consoles (I think 5 minutes was a
pretty adequate timeout). This sucks pretty hard. I tryed SysRq-S(ync),
-U(nmount), which printed SysRq: Emergency Sync and SysRq: Emergency Remount
R/O respectively, but I didn't get the confirmation messages telling me that
it actually worked, even after waiting about a minute. Mercifully, the SysRq
reboot works.
A belated bug report: My system sits idling, logged out at home, and in
test9-pre4, I'd get home to the exact same situation; could've been that
2-hour-idle bug.
