ncr53c8xx does not work under 2.4

With Kernel 2.4.0-test7-pre2 I'll get an Error while loading ncr53c8xx:

# modprobe ncr53c8xx
/lib/modules/2.4.0-test7-pre2/kernel/drivers/scsi/ncr53c8xx.o: init_module: Operation not permitted

With 2.2.17pre16 the ncr53c8xx module works fine:
