2.4.0-test6-pre1 --> error reading ELF header

Hello everyone

I decided to give 2.4.0-test after trying 2.3 a few months
back. Everything seems to compile without a hitch. After
installation/reboot depmod gives the following....

[mhaque@viper linux]$ sudo depmod -a
depmod: error reading ELF header: No such file or directory
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.0-test6/misc/ip_gre.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.0-test6/misc/ipip.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.0-test6/misc/radio-miropcm20.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.0-test6/usb/printer.o

[mhaque@viper linux]$ gcc --version
2.95.2

[mhaque@viper linux]$ ldd --version
ldd (GNU libc) 2.1.3

[mhaque@viper linux]$ ld -v
GNU ld version 2.9.5 (with BFD 2.9.5.0.22)

[mhaque@viper linux]$ depmod --version
depmod version 2.3.13

I haven't tried compiling with gcc 2.7.2.3 yet and I won't have a chance
until late next weekend. Wanted to know if anyone had a quick fix or if
anyone else is even seeing this problem.
