The subject says it all. Upon boot, this is what I get:

Linux version 2.2.16 (root@turn3.biologie.uni-konstanz.de) (gcc version
2.95.1 19990816/Linux (release)) #3 Wed Jul 12 11:31:55 CEST 2000

Also, when running lmbench (2alpha11) I get ...
---------------------------------------------------
Host OS Mhz L1 $ L2 $ Main mem Guesses
--------- ------------- --- ---- ---- -------- -------
i686-linu Linux 2.3.39 600 5 52 225
i686-linu Linux 2.2.16 599 5 223 230 No L2 cache?
i686-linu Linux 2.2.16 599 5 223 230 No L2 cache?

which seems to indicate that 2.3.39 uses L2, but 2.2.16 does not.

Any ideas how to switch the L2 cache on (needless to say, in the BIOS
setup it is enabled. The BIOS version is F2, the newest).

Thanks for any help,

Kay
