Oops 2.2.16 SMP+PPP burns my building down!

Hi,

        I'm not sure if these oops are caused by hardware problem but I
can reproduce them quite often by:

        1. Load the two cpu's with a heavy process.
        2. Do a ppp connection and an outgoing rsync (the box is set as
        an ISP).

        The two conditions above seems the be required. I cannot lock the
machine with just one of them. This problem existed since kernel 2.2.13
(the first kernel with this box).

        Mobo: ASUS P2B-D.
        Dual P3-500 (no overclocking).
        Standard kernel 2.2.16 but with KMSGDUMP patch.

        Let me know if you need more info. I'd also appreciate any
feedback.

        Thanks,

CONFIG_PPP=m
CONFIG_SLIP=m

Follows two Oops in different times showing the reproducibility.
