We are in the process of deploying 2.2.16 + combo patch. One of our
users reported today that his machine temporaily froze (no cursor
movement in X) for 10-20 seconds and then recovered. He is uncertain
whether his disk drive was thrashing at the time.
The following syslog messages were approximately concurrent with the
freeze:

The system is a 750MHz uniprocessor Pentium III with 384M of RAM and
512M of swap.
Unfortunately for this bug report, he was running VMware. I will send
another message if we see the same behavior without VMware.
