Hi,

I know we're a few versions further along the line, but upgrading
every day is not an option for us.

When i try to make a device, it gets made, but with teh wrong major/minor
numbers.

Client is a 2.4.0test1-ac4 kernel, server is 2.2.15

geriatrix /dev# rm ussp_ctl
geriatrix /dev# mknod ussp_ctl c 10 189
geriatrix /dev# l ussp_ctl
crw-r--r-- 1 root root 255, 255 Jun 13 16:40 ussp_ctl
geriatrix /dev# cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.4.0-test1-ac4 (wolff@cave) (gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)) #7 Tue Jun 13 13:29:21 MEST 2000
geriatrix /dev#

server% cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.2.15 (wolff@cave) (gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)) #4 Sun Jun 4 13:44:56 MEST 2000
