es1371 broken in 2.4.0-test1-ac4 (and earlier, maybe)

Hi Alan,

running kmidi on various .mid files gives me

No instrument mapped to tone bank 0, program 5 - this instrument will not
be heard
No instrument mapped to tone bank 0, program 50 - this instrument will not
be heard
No instrument mapped to tone bank 0, program 62 - this instrument will not
be heard
No instrument mapped to tone bank 0, program 64 - this instrument will not
be heard

(numbers differ depending on .mid, obviously) and so it claims that it
plays ok but I hear nothing.

Also, it looks like it is not just MIDI. Even .au does not work as
expected, running play /usr/share/sndconfig/sample.au loops forever and so
does "cat sample.au > /dev/audio". Then, immediately after that running
"kmidi sample.mid" (the one in red hat's /usr/share/sndconfig) generates
noise. Running kmidi again, makes everything quiet again.

I have statically compiled only es1371 support and nothing else. And it
worked before quite recently (unfortunately, can't remember exactly which
2.3.x level - I don't use sound that much).

However, running xawtv gives fine sound - no problem at all. And bttv/i2c
are all statically compiled too.

Btw, while we are at it - it is irritating to have to jump into
"Sound" section just to enable "BT848 support" in make xconfig in Video
for Linux section.

Regards,
Tigran
