Hi,

I use linux at home. The primary hd(1.2GB) has two partitions(C,D) and
win95 is installed on C.The secondary hd(540MB) is reserved for Linux.
I can see the content of C or D from Linux after i mount either of
them. But when I want to copy a file from the linux system to my primary
hd(C or D) I am unable to do so.An error message with lot of codes and
block numbers appear on the screen with the line "segmentation fault".And
 then that console get stucked!
Can you explain the cause for this?.Any remedy is greately appreciated.
I have attached my fstab and mtab files for your reference.

 mtab
 /dev/hdb6 / ext2 defaults 1
1
 /dev/hdb1 /boot ext2 defaults 1
2
 /dev/hda1 /c vfat
 noauto,defaults,rw,user 0 0
 /dev/hda5 /d vfat
 noauto,defaults,rw,user 0 0
 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,user,ro 0
0
 /dev/hdb5 swap swap defaults 0
0
 /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy vfat noauto,user 0
0
 none /proc proc defaults 0
0
 none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0
0
 mount
 /dev/hdb6 / ext2 rw 0 0
 none /proc proc rw 0 0
 /dev/hdb1 /boot ext2 rw 0 0
 none /dev/pts devpts rw,gid=5,mode=620 0 0
 /dev/hda1 /c vfat rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,user=tiran 0 0

following is the Oops listing obtained when trying to copy into vfat.

I can copy files to my linux partition from C or D (and not otherway
around) ie. I can read without any difficulty from the vfat partition.

A diskcheck on my vfat partition from windows does not show any errors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please cc your suggestions to

TIA
