Today I retrieved the 2.3.99-pre2 tar.gz from kernel.org (I needed this
specific version) and put it in the regular place for kernel sources.
Then I tried `make menuconfig' and that failed because autoconf.h was
missing in include/linux.
That was unexpected.
Is this normal?
I don't think so, since (if I remember correctly) I once got a fresh
2.2.x version and that did work.
