Seems to work fine on the toshiba portege 7200 (600-500mhz)(the s3 savage
ix video is another story).

in the bios on the toshiba you can turn it off (kick it to 500mhz only)
not sure if you can go the other way. I would note that fan runs pretty
much all the time when it's plugged in.
