I guess that should be something like this

        int fd=open("/dev/vcsa?",O_RDWR); // replace ? by console number
        int lines=0,columns=0;
        unsigned char *screen;

        read(fd,&lines,1);
        read(fd,&columns,1);
        mmap(NULL, column*lines, PROT_WRITE|PROT_READ, MAP_SHARED, fd, 4);

        screen[0]='t';
        screen[1]=0x20;
}

This is untested codes, (and needs rw access to /dev/vcsa?) but should
give you an idea.
