  This patch certainly allows my 8ways to boot. However I get a
BUG: kunmap_high (vaddr == 0)
message on bootup. There seems to be a race and the machine hangs on
boot about 1 in 3 boots. The box wedges at the same old "Waiting for send to
finish..." message. The machines also have a tendancy to stiff after
a few minutes in contrast the non-SMP vanilla 2.3.99-4pre5 appears ok.
  The machines are IBM 8500r 8*xeon550 2M, 16GB ram alteon GbE card, IBM
serveraid. Both boxes are fine with 2.2.15pre17.
thanks,

 Chris
