2.3.99-pre4-[12] with nfs doesn't compile with gcc 2.7.2.3

The reference to this symbol is generated by gcc 2.7.2.3, but not by
gcc 2.95.3 (and probably egcs and other versions).

So an update from 2.7.2.3 to 2.95.3 fixed this problem for me.

Isn't 2.7.2.x still the recommended compiler?
