Attached is a trivial(stupid?) program I wrote to test available memory for a
military aircraft simulator. I had to abandon it because it causes
BadThingsToHappen (TM) if you run multiple copies to exhaust memory. I tried it
under 2.2.12 (RedHat 6.1) yesterday and it killed Telnet and locked up the
console. It also caused havoc on 2.0.36.
Now I just use /proc/<pid>/maps to get the data required.
