Richo and Vadem PCMCIA broken in 2.3.99pre4-1/2

Hangs at boot, right after it says...

Intel PCIC probe:
  Ricoh RF5C296/396 ISA-to-PCMCIA ...
    host ops[0]: none

And just stops. Same thing with a Vadem VG-469 ISA-to-PCMCIA card.

The Ricoh worked in 2.3.99pre2.

Any hints?
