smbd (2.0.6) fails with 2.3.99-pre3

Hello,

I'm trying to start smbd under the 2.3.99-pre3 kernel. If booting 2.3.48
smbd runs fine with exactly the same configuration. The following is the
error output of log.smb:

  smbd version 2.0.6 started.

  Can't create or use IPC area. Error was Invalid argument
[2000/03/25 12:57:48, 0] locking/locking.c:locking_init(174)
  ERROR: Failed to initialise share modes

Any ideas?
