For the USB drivers (ov511, cpia, ibmcam), they need
Video4Linux support built in the kernel.
It says so in the Help for each of them (not that
I expect that to solve the problem^W issue).

The issue is of a smarter config program, which
has been kicked about on the mailing list for
the last few weeks (months ?).

Subject: 2.3.99-pre3: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k binfmt-464c

Hi,

I just tried the 2.3.99-pre3 and discoverd/had some problems:
first of all, the include/linux/autoconf.h was missing, and make xconfig
needed it.

then i booted from the new kernel, and only got this line all over the
screen:
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k binfmt-464c, errorno = 8

then i tried to make a kernel without modules (configured by make
xconfig),
and got undefined referneces

I think this only a small problem in the configuration...
(.config on request, i don't want to be flamed because of sending 20k)

at last my ISDN-Card wasn't automatically detected, in spite of the
automatic isapnp-configuration (Siemens I-Surf) (the Sound Blaster AWE32
made it without problems). btw: i have a RedHat 6.1-Distribution

Thanks for your work and your attention
Ciao
