It happens to me under 2.2.x when something other than the PS/2 mouse claims IRQ
12, but it recovers after a short lockup. Under 2.3.x, something always seems
to claim IRQ 12 (either USB or PCMCIA), and the lockup persists until I close
the mouse device.
