"make xconfig" does not work

Hi,
I have patch my kernel from 2.3.46 to 2.3.50. But from
2.3.49, "make xconfig" doesnt work. In 2.3.50, I complained
about the some enviroment variable related to SB.
Please help. Is it a bug?
