Hi,
after I upgraded from 2.3.34 to 2.3.4[78] I noticed these problems:

The kernel will only boot as long as I put a ZIP disc in my IOMEAGA IDE(!)
drive. Otherwise he fails with:

hda: IBM-DTTA-351010, ATA DISK drive
hdb: IBM-DHEA-36481, ATA DISK drive
hdc: IOMEGA ZIP 100, ATA DISK drive
hdd: DC5-E6, ATAPI CDROM drive
ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
ALI15X3: Ultra DMA enabled
hda: IBM-DTTA-351010, 9671MB w/466kB Cache, CHS=1232/255/63, UDMA(33)
ALI15X3: Ultra DMA enabled
hdb: IBM-DHEA-36481, 6197MB w/472kB Cache, CHS=790/255/63, UDMA(33)
hdc: IOMEGA ZIP 100, 96MB w/16kB Cache, CHS=512/12/32
Partition check:
 hda: hda1 hda2 < hda5 hda6 hda7 hda8 hda9 hda10 hda11 hda12 hda13 hda14 >
 hdb: hdb1 < hdb5 hdb6 hdb7 hdb8 hdb9 >
 hdc: lost interrupt
lost interrupt

When using 2.3.34 I got the following messages:
hdc: IOMEGA ZIP 100, 96MB w/16kB Cache, CHS=512/12/32
Partition check:
 hda: hda1 hda2 < hda5 hda6 hda7 hda8 hda9 hda10 hda11 hda12 hda13 hda14 >
 hdb: hdb1 < hdb5 hdb6 hdb7 hdb8 hdb9 >
 hdc:hdc: read_intr: status=0x50 { DriveReady SeekComplete }
 unknown partition table

and the kernel continued booting without any further problems.

But even if I put a ZIP disc into the drive I am unable to login because
after entering my username and password the login process simply stalls -
not sure how this could be kernel related but this problem also disappears
when using 2.3.34 again.

Hope I provided enough information.

IB
