Re: Very low bandwidth when using knfsd

Hello again

Now I have root access to manually mount/umount my laptop's harddisk. I
tried some rsizes/wsizes to find out the best setting. These are my
results (I set rsize equal to wsize):

(the table looks best with a fixed-width font)

time [min]
(log)
     ^
     |
15.8 | *
10.0-|
     |
 4.0 | *
 2.5 | *
 1.5 | * *
 1.0-| *
     | o
     | o o
 0.25| o o o
     |
 0.1-|
     +----------------------------------------->
        | | | | | | | | wsize
       256 1024 4096 32K

* = knfsd
o = old nfs daemon

Your assumption, that the problem drastically decreases when I reduce
the rsize/wsize to 1024, was right. But nevertheless the performance of
the old daemon seems to be up to 4 times better.
